- What film? “TIBET: THE HISTORY OF A TRAGEDY” is a film critical of the human rights violations in the Tibet Autonomous Region of P.R.China.
Is the Free Tibet movement just a British/CIA plot to divide P.R.China up into 30 or 40 different independent ethnic-based states? Britain and Russia have used military action againt China since over a century in order to try to control Xinjiang and Tibet.
Will a patriarchal, hierarchical, religious government in Tibet independent of P.R.Chinese capitalist, “all-China” (ogólno-chińskie) methods of government be an improvement for the people of Tibet? Do they want partial autonomy or total independence?
Come along and discuss after the film.
- where? At the LaLucza Alternative Space (ul.Podmurna 30/4 in Torun town centre)
- when? Thursday 10 Jan at 19:00

How many victims among African refugees? FRONTEX: between Warsaw and the Canary Islands
What’s FRONTEX? FRONTEX is the French abbreviation for « frontières extérieures » (external borders). The full name says more: FRONTEX is the “European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union”. According to official government information, the agency, which started on 3 October 2005 is responsible for coordinating, supporting and training services responsible for the “security” of external borders. On the surface, it looks like just another EU super-structure, intended to support local agencies. However, both the specific aims of the agency (control of and blocking immigration) and its wider powers (semi-tra…

The miners of “Belaruskaliy” salt mines are preparing to picket against changes already applied to the Labour Code and against the new law “About pension insurance” which is going to be considered by Parliament. In accordance with the law, they made the appropriate registration with the local state bodies.
The picket will occur on October 2nd—on the day, when a session of Parliament will be opened.
The registration of the picket was signed by private persons, not by the independent trade union of miners. Moreover, as reported in the newspaper “Belorussians reports and market”, the leader of the trade union, Mikalai Novik, also denies the fact of the self-organised strike, which happened on 9 September 2007. Information about the Sep 9 strike was distributed via liberal opposition media by the Salihorsk local “Helsinki Human Rights Commitee” division. According to http://praca-by.info, another ind…

Campaign Against Homophobia – Toruń
Most people associate Toruń with Nicolaus Copernicus, gingerbread biscuits (pierniki), the gothic old town listed by UNESCO. Others think of Father Rydzyk’s media empire and its loud “Radio Maria”. But now that’s not all. Toruń has become one of Poland’s centres opposing homophobia. On the 31 January 2006 the first, still unofficial, meeting of the Toruń branch of KPH (Committee Against Homophobia) took place.
”...and from then on KPH is now also my group, organisation fighting for your and my rights, for everyone’s rights, not just for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals, but for everyone, who wants to live in his/her …
URGENT CALL FOR DONATIONS

*** PLEASE DISSEMINATE WIDELY ***
Dear friend,
The mounting legal cost of the joint Palestinian-Israeli struggle against the occupation is forcing us to send this urgent appeal for funds. We are asking for your support to continue the work of the Israeli group Anarchists Against the Wall (AATW).
For the past four years, the group has supported the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation and specifically against Israel`s segregation wall. Week after week, AATW joins the Palestinian popular resistance against the wall, in diverse areas of the West Bank, including the villages of Bil`in west of Ramallah, al-Ma`asara, and Ertas, south of Bethlehem, and Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.
Activists have often been arrested and indicted for their participation in the struggle. Fortunately, the group is represented by a dedicated lawyer, Adv. Gaby Lasky. Adv. Lasky has tirelessly worked to defend activists arrested at…

Keep track of incoming information:Protest against the hypocrisy of Catholic society!
14.VII.2007 (Saturday) 14:00 at Copernicus’ statue
The action was aimed at bringing the attention of local society and the city council to the problematic nature of giving public money to a project not having an effect on the living conditions of people needing help.
Taking into account the present situation of health services, as well the level of social support from the state we consider it unjustified to give public money for the building of yet another statue in the name of “Catholic values”. The neglecting of public support sector in the name of showing so-called “good catholics” doesn’t help the basic existence needs of poor families and hungry children, who the “Catholic elites” seem to care about during their speeches.According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) one third of people…
We will Play on our Land
by Sami Awad
Saturday, May 26, 2007
Many may say that this is strange or outright weird, but the message was clear and strong, “This is our land and we have the right do as we want on it … even play football…” This was the statement made by Abdullah, one of the leaders of the Popular Committee to Resist the Wall in Southern Bethlehem when asked to comment on this week’s protest in the village of Um Salamona south of Bethlehem.
As part of the continuously growing nonviolent movement in the Southern part of Bethlehem, more Palestinians were joined by internationals and Israelis to protest the building of the Wall this Friday through a football/soccer match that was held on the exact path of the wall. Once the wall is constructed 70% of the agricultural land of t…

About 100 neonazis from Narodowego Odrodzenia Polski (NOP) organised a demonstration in Wroclaw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wroclaw). They yelled out stuff like "White power", "All Poland, only white", "Free Poland without niggers" The neonazis cited Mussolini: "In our country there's a place for black - if we're talking about black shirts".
About 300 antifascists organised a counterdemonstration. No fights occurred. Police made a tight cordon separating the two groups. The main conflict was verbal, with shouts of "Antifa" from one side and "White power" from the other.
2 antifascists, one from Torun, one from Warsaw, were detained. They may be accused of assaulting a police officer.
The police blocked the antifascist counterdemonstation at Solny Place, allowing the extreme right to move freely around the town square and express their racist opinions. As usual, the police defended the fascists.
The neonazi demo ended at around 18:00 local time and ended quietly.
